Fraud, scams and identity theft continue to be an unfortunate part of our lives. There are several ways you can keep yourself safe and informed.

A few minutes of setting up alerts on accounts and cards, adding a password to your accounts, securing your cell phone, checking your accounts frequently and reading about the latest scams may save you from the would- be criminals.

Set up Alerts on your Accounts

Set up Alerts in your Accounts

You can set up a variety of alerts in online banking and on our mobile app. The alerts you set up will notify you if a transaction occurs in your account or cards. You will receive instant notification of a transaction thus allowing you to take immediate action if you did not make or authorize the transaction.

Add a Password on Your Accounts

While not required, it is encouraged that you add a password or passphrase to your accounts. This would protect your accounts if anyone ever obtained your personal information and attempt to transact business or access your accounts in-person or over the phone. You can add a password/passphrase by sending us a secure email in online banking. Log into online banking and click messages to send us an email.

Card Controls

Card Controls

You can control and set alerts to your debit and credit cards in online banking and on our mobile app. Set spending limits, turn cards on/off anytime, set an alert if cards are used. You will receive instant notification of a transaction thus allowing you to take immediate action if you did not make or authorize the transaction.

Smart Phone Tips

  • Keep your phone locked with passcode 6 or more digits.
  • Update it. Your operating system has security features built into it. And phone manufacturers regularly push out free updates to protect you against security threats.
  • Back it up. The convenience and portability of our phone puts it in peril. We might break or lose it. Or an opportunistic criminal might steal it. Back up your phone to the cloud or an external drive.
